SafePass Travel App

Overview

Today’s digital nomads face increasing global instability — political protests, conflict zones, natural disasters, health outbreaks. The data exists, but it's fragmented across dozens of government advisories and news feeds. Most travelers simply don’t know where to look.

SafePass consolidates multiple data sources into a single, AI-assisted platform that delivers real-time, personalized safety intelligence directly to the traveler. The goal: clarity, confidence, and calm during uncertain conditions.

  • Led the full UX design process from discovery through delivery, ensuring that every design decision prioritized user trust, clarity, and safety.

Process

Discovery & Research

GOAL: Understand the user, problem, and global risk ecosystem

  • Conduct user interviews with frequent travelers, business professionals, aid workers, etc.

  • Perform competitive analysis of existing safety/travel advisory tools (e.g., STEP, TripIt, GeoSure)

  • Research data sources: government advisories (State Dept, WHO, CDC), news APIs, AI models for predictive insights

  • DELIVERABLE: UX research report and user personas

Strategy & Information Architecture​

GOAL: Define the product’s structure, data hierarchy, and feature roadmap

  • Map out core user journeys (e.g., “Get notified about a trip’s safety risk before flying.”)

  • Create site map, user flows, and app architecture.

  • Define content hierarchy for alerts, risk levels, and notifications.

  • DELIVERABLE: User flow diagramslow-fidelity wireframesfeature prioritization matrix.

Visual & Interaction Design

GOAL: Build trust through an intuitive, calm interface with clear microinteractions

  • Develop branding (colors, typography, iconography, tone of voice).

  • Design mid-to-high fidelity UI screens.

  • Prototype key interactions (map zooms, alert cards, trip planner).

  • DELIVERABLE: UI design system, interactive prototype, motion guidelines.

Testing, Iteration & Handoff

Goal: Validate assumptions, refine UX, and prepare for development.

  • Conduct usability testing with target users.

  • Iterate designs based on feedback (focus on accessibility and clarity of information).

  • Document design specs and interactions for developers.
